Brash space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when he discovers the orb's true power and the cosmic threat it poses, Quill must rally his ragtag group to save the universe.
The Guardians of the Galaxy is a breath of fresh air among all the recent cinematic outputs of Marvel. How could it be not? When a talking raccoon, a walking tree, a lithe green female alien of some sort, a heavily-tattooed strongman alien of some other sort, and a goofball human with a weakness for lame jokes and 70's pop songs team up to save the world (or in this case, the galaxy)? This bizarre group couldn’t get any stranger; but this strangeness is what actually made the Guardians of the Galaxy unique and just beautiful in its own way.

The film offered a great mix of comedic value and a deal of serious emotional depth that will not only entertain, but also tug at the heartstrings of many audiences. Its swashbuckling sci-fi action and larger than life characters will totally blow your minds away. The characters were truly remarkable as they build a great chemistry through displaying goofy camaraderie and embracing each other’s differences. As if that weren’t enough, the film’s CGI made the Guardians of the Galaxy even more entertaining through its aesthetically pleasing effects; this also led to the creation of the purely CGI character Rocket Raccoon, who is stuffed with attitude and remarkable for his hilarious one-liners. Not to mention, you will never see the space look as dazzlingly beautiful as it was shown here.
So in a nutshell, it was overall an excellent movie. The effects were top notch, the acting was great, the storyline was compelling, and the comedy was terrific. In addition to that, the great and feel-good retro soundtrack added to the positive vibe of the film that will surely leave the audience with a light hearted spirit making them yearn for more. All together now… “I’m hooked on a feeling.”
