Earlier this month, the members of the Misang Pambata, a parochial organization that aims to encourage the youth to be active in Church, started collecting used newspapers for their “Newspaper and White Paper Drive” to raise funds for their anniversary on Nov. 24.
The Misang Pambata also organized “Cake for a Cause,” wherein tickets will be sold for five pesos each and there will be a raffle draw every last Sunday of the month. The winner of the draw gets a free cake as a prize.
Currently, the ministry has already raised 3,000 pesos.
The ministry will continue collecting newspaper and selling cakes until November. Collected money will be used for the food, booths, and program proper.
Last year, the Misang Pambata celebrated the anniversary with a simple program because they donated the money they have raised to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda that left the Philippines with 6,000 deaths.
