MANILA- There is one less reason to be afraid of the "budol-budol" gang.
The Committee on Results and Sanitation of the Brgy. 470 in Sampaloc heightened the security to avoid robbery which has been a problem in the area.
This was after a recent case involving a budol-budol and a high school student from the University of Perpetual Help.
The student, who did not want to give her name, was hypnotized and robbed outside their campus last Aug. 16.
The student said a guy talked to her and brought her to a place with lesser people.
The victim lost her wallets, cellphones, and iPad after founding herself “walking and daydreaming” at the place where the suspect left her.
“Wala na akong maalala. Basta paglabas ko ng school, kinausap ako. Noong nagka-malay na ako, wala na mga gamit ko at naiyak na lang ako sa takot,” the student said.
Barangay Kagawad Mike Salinas said the barangay has been experiencing lots of robbery cases, particularly the budol-budol, mainly because it targets the students studying in the University of Santo Tomas and other institutions in the area.
Salinas added the barangay never stopped doing their duties to secure the area, but the residents must also be alert and aware.
Tulong-tulong tayong humanap ng solusyon,” Salinas said.
